Solidifying an assembly

Solidifying an assembly

I'm trying to save an assembly to an STL format, and I was reading somewhere that I have to solidify my model. How does one solidify a model?

RE: Solidifying an assembly

I assume that you are trying to save an assembly into a solid part? You can export an assembly to individual STL parts but if you want to create a single part out of an assembly I think you will need to use shrinkwrap though we have had little success with very complicated geometry but relatively simple models have worked just fine.  If you have the AAX then you can use merge/inheritance features as well but I personally don't have any experience.

Hope that helps,

When I save my model to .stl, it saves every part individualy, so I have about 100 different parts in .stl

do 1 thing convert assembly into single solid by merging the parts into a new part by external merge method n then try solidifying it...

Thanks for the info, but I found how to do it. I went to save as, then in the option indicated I wanted everything in one file.
