Ultrasonic scan on glass flake coating (1000 micron) to check internal

(OP)
Hi,

Anybody have experience doing ultrasonic A,B or C scan on the glasflake coating (1000 micron) on the riser to determine the internal conidtion of the riser since the IP cannot be performed on schedule due to operation/process problem. if ultrasonic scans are not the option, any other proved inspection methods?

Hope can shed some light....thanks

RE: Ultrasonic scan on glass flake coating (1000 micron) to check internal

The glassflake coating is on the inside or outside?

Just because the ILI is delayed doesn't mean that you have to dive straight in with an external inspection programme.  Review all of the data available to ascertain whether there have been situations where high rates of metal loss could have occurred since the last inspection.

If you must inspect, try long range UT or pulsed eddy current.
