Sprinkler tank

Sprinkler tank

Sprinkler tank

(OP)
I'm doing a design acc. to FM, tank capacity 565m3.
Could any one help me with max time for filling the tank?
It'll be filled by potable water from public main.
Thanks in advance.

RE: Sprinkler tank

Per NFPA 22, Section 14.4.2, the design of the fill inlet must be capable of filling the tank within 8 hours.

RE: Sprinkler tank

Does this mean the tank simply has to have an intake sized to allow filling in 8 hours or the pipe to the city main must be large enough to fill the tank in 8 hours? Would it be allowed to have the FD could hook a pumper truck to a hydrant and fill the tank? Or maybe the owner fill the tank with a water truck etc?
