Display problem with Solid Edge ST4

Display problem with Solid Edge ST4

Display problem with Solid Edge ST4

(OP)
I installed the Solid Edge ST4 and couldn't use it because a very weird display problem. The Startup page opens normally, but when I start a new part or assembly I can see anything on the display. The toolbars does not appear, nor the screen with the part. But I can click on it. In sumary, the SE ST4 works but I can't work on it because I can't see anything. Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

My system Specs:
HP notebook Pavilion dv7
Windows 7 Ultimate
Core i7 Q 720 1.60Ghz
6,0Gb RAM
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650

RE: Display problem with Solid Edge ST4

I posted a response on MCADForums, repeated here for posterity.

Graphics card -- that's your problem.

With any model file open, go to Solid Edge Options.
View tab.
Uncheck the autodetect settings for your graphics card.
Select Backing Store or Software Driven and see if that fixes the problem.

I would say that those settings would decrease your performance, but since you are getting none it will be step up. Since this is a Radeon card and not a Firepro, you can try the Graphics Card Driven (Direct3D) option. A 5650 should have enough horsepower to drive Solid Edge especially with how slow data will be moving to the graphics card with only a 1.6 GHz processor.
