Expat Opportunities for Structural Engineers
Expat Opportunities for Structural Engineers
(OP)
I'm about to graduate with my M.S. Civil Engineering (Structural) I currently have a B.S. Civil Engineering and have passed the FE exam. I'm young and I'd like to live outside the US for a few years an am willing to go anywhere.
What country has the best expat opportunities for structural engineers with these qualifications?
Anyone here have any experience with this that cares to share there thoughts on this?
What websites would be a good starting point for a job search?
Do you feel the best opportunities for structural engineers exist in the US or abroad? and if so where?

I cant say how succesful an applicant with little or no industrial experience would be however I myself had only 4 years exp when i came here and i do no of a couple of other western engineers who came to Qatar staright from university, so its definitely possible.
nothign is impossible and those prepared to take a gamble in the current market are the only ones who will move forward............

if your interested in the Gulf/middle east region then GulfTalent.com is very good for construction/engineering roles in the region, i have had several offers form being registered there including one last month for a role in New Zealand (not sure how that works!). Bayt.com also appears to be pretty active but ive not had much experience with that.
alternatively look at US companies that operate overseas, you may find it easier to get work from an employer who understands your background.
All the best
