New member/Good books on parameter setups and troubleshooting?

(OP)
Hi

Just thought I'd say hi as a first post. I'm a milling machinist working in Denmark and I've just joined a company as a laser operator. I trawled the net looking for info on set up parameters and other peoples experiences as I am a complete novice to laser operation. The company knew this when hiring me but I am really trying to hit the ground running. I have a ByStar 3015 3000w machine and I'm reading throught the manuals but I'd like some set up info from another source. I saw a book by Charles Caristan called Laser Cutting that seems good...but expensive. Anyone have a good recommendation before I splash out on this one?

Matt

RE: New member/Good books on parameter setups and troubleshooting?

Read the manuals that came with the machine, it's the best place to learn the basics. Then come here for help. The 3kw 3015 is very popular. Take advantage of the others running the same machine.

Make sure the beam is aligned, nozzle is aligned and zero point focal position is calibrated for the head.
