Searching Teamcenter for use of a particular NX Drafting Pattern?

Searching Teamcenter for use of a particular NX Drafting Pattern?

Searching Teamcenter for use of a particular NX Drafting Pattern?

(OP)
Hi All,

I am wondering if there's a way to run a search/query in Teamcenter to find any NX drawings/datasets that use a particular drafting pattern. I wanted to correct an error in a pattern and I came to find it was never released. If I make changes to the revision block in the pattern, I'd like to know how many drawings it could affect. I've tried various searched already in Teamcenter and have had no success.

The 1st place I would try if you know the Teamcenter ID of the pattern, would be impact analysis. Set it to show reference objects rather that used in assemblies. It may help, but I have not used patterns since drawing templates came in.

I had thought of that and tried it, but it failed to show any referenced objects of any kind. It appears the patterns are brought into drafting sheets as independent objects (a snapshot of the pattern at the time it was imported). That also implies that updating the pattern will have no effect on drawings that used that pattern, UNLESS you perform an UPDATE PATTERN command. For existing drawings that have been released then, there should be no problem if I add some features to the pattern. And most CAD users will never run the UPDATE PATTERN command when revising a model.
