box point 1
box point 1
(OP)
While making a box with 2 diag. Point the first is already picked. I have to manually click "specify point (1)" every time. In older versions (nx3) i could pick 2 point on the fly and keep going. More of a hassle than a problem.

RE: box point 1
With NX 7.5 neither the 1st nor the 2nd points for creating a Block from 'Two Diagonal Points' are preselected when I open the dialog.

RE: box point 1
do it twice. make a box useing 2 points...get out of the command...go beack into "box" (two diaganal point should be at top now) and it starts you off at point xc,yc,zc from origin.
it works this way for 2 points and height as well. it automaticaly makes your first point 0,0,0.
RE: box point 1
That being said I went back and checked what the legacy behavior was prior to NX 7.5. Up through NX 5.0 there was no explicit Select Point option at part of the Block dialog. It depended exclusively on the Snap Point toolbar and/or the Point Constructor dialog launched from the toolbar, and as such, the first point was never preselected.
However, starting with NX 6.0, the Block dialog was updated and the Select Point step was included in the dialog along with access to the various Point definition options (the Snap Point toolbar could still be used is desired) however, when first launched, the first Point (or the only point if you were using the 'Origin and Edge Lengths' method) is preselected for you and in the case of a two point method, the second Select Point item is active, skipping the first point, which is the behavior that you say that you're seeing. Note that this behavior was the same with NX 7.0 as well.
Now I recall that there were some complaints about this and it's very possible that someone has since 'fixed' this. I say this because I'm actually running NX 7.5.5.4 which is that latest MR (Maintenance Release) which BTW is now available for download from the GTAC support site. So it's very possible that this has been changed in one of the recent MR's and that's actually why my system works different than yours.
