Sheet metal form tool issue
Sheet metal form tool issue
(OP)
Hi folks, I'm busy reverse-engineering a bracket for a client and have hit a minor obstacle... See attached part (2011 format).
I have used the form tool here (for the first time) to create the indent. I created a custom tool, positioned it and trimmed away the excess (couldn't figure out another way to make it look as I want) then proceeded on to the other features of the clip. My problem came when I wanted to create an 'L' shaped tab like the one already in place at the opposite end to the indent: the edge flange tool doesn't seem to recognise the edge of the indent as sheet-metal, and therefore won't allow me to add my flange.
I'm aware that the indent will not be included in a flat pattern of the part, which I can live with (although if there is a better method I'm open to suggestions) but not having the second 'L' shaped tab is not an option!
Any ideas?
