wcs in lower corner

the boxwcs icon in the lower left corner of my screen shows the orientation of absolute wcs.  is there anyway to change that as while working i would like to use the boxwcs as a reference to moving things without having to zoom out to see my actual wcs which may not be set to absolute?

RE: wcs in lower corner

No, the display and location of the so-called 'View Triad' cannot be changed other than removing it altogether (in Preferences -> Visualization).  The only thing that you can do is if you select one of the axis you can then enter a value which will rotate the display of you model by that amount about the selected axis.  Also when one of the axis has been selected, this will limit the mouse driven rotation to that axis with the angle being displayed in the angle entry widget.

would be a nice option for future?

RE: wcs in lower corner

Since it only represents the ABSOLUTE orientation it would not really be suitable for what you described and before you ask, we have NO intentions of optionally allowing it to reflect the current WCS since that would overcomplicate the elegance of it not to mention making it ambiguous since you would never really know what it represented without some additional feedback or menus.  Besides, we were not the first to dream this thing up and so when we implemented it we simply copied what had been available with some other systems for years.

Autocad 12(wow DOS!),13,14,2002 had it the way I am descibeing. it would let you put the wcs @ origin or at lower left like nx7.5 now, but would show wcs not abswcs and wcs wouldnot be shown at 0,0,0.

No biggie.  I can see aplications for it.  Anyone else?

RE: wcs in lower corner

AC... 'nuff said.
I have to agree with John about messing with the current simplicity... NX has enough optional methods of getting the same results regardless of what you want to accomplish, and further complications wouldn't add much value in this case, IMO.
