Rotation around axis/construction line

Rotation around axis/construction line

(OP)
Hi

Haven't been able to find anything about this.

Is it possible to (in an animation) to rotate a part around an axis (reference geometry) or a (construction) line in a sketch?

Thanks in advance
dixib

RE: Rotation around axis/construction line

Dixib,
If you add a camera that is targeted at your desired axis feature then key a rotation of the camera I think you'll have it.

Thanks for the advice, but it won't work in the given situation.

The animation is happening inside a room, where the parts are placed on a table. From there they are moved up in front of the camera, where I wish for them to rotate (one by one).
Rotating the camera in this situation would make the room spin around, which isn't desireable.

RE: Rotation around axis/construction line

Have you tried?

No, I haven't tried. But I know it won't work, since I don't want the room to spin around. Besides the parts are not centered in the view, which they will be with the suggested solution.

I've ended up letting the part be stationary.
