Full face gaskets

Full face gaskets

Full face gaskets

(OP)
Hi all,

Does any one know how to calculate the gasket seating load for a full face gasket?
I don't think I allowed to use ASME VIII, Div 1 Appendix 2, since the gasket outer diameter is larger the bolts center diameter.

Please note that I am new to the forum, and to pressure vessels design, so please give me baby steps answers.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

RE: Full face gaskets

Try Appendix Y. That is in the section of non-mandatory Appendixes.
Cheers,

Thanks for the bulletin, I found out about TAYLOR buletins today, when I tried to model this in Compress.

RE: Full face gaskets

I couldn't open the bulletin????  I didn't see a file extension on it.  Did it get corrupted?

RE: Full face gaskets

OK, there was a pound sign in the file name (#45) that was causing the failure, file name truncated at the symbol.

???

Regards,

Mike

RE: Full face gaskets

I can see you had to pound  the daylights out of that problem before it fit the file name .....    8<)
