Lost selecting and highlighting in SW 2006

Lost selecting and highlighting in SW 2006

(OP)
I'm running SW 2006 on Win XP Pro.  A few days ago I downloaded a STEP file from a vendor's web site and opened it in SW.  I ran import diagnostics in SW.  SW said there were problems, but the part seemed to behave o.k., aside from the yellow triangle warning.  Immediately after that, I lost mouse-over highlighting in models and sketches, and completely lost the ability to select hidden edges in models, even with "Select other".  These features are gone even when the offending part is not loaded.  How can I get these features back, short of reinstalling SW?

System Options, Display/Selection, "Dynamic Highlight from Graphics View" for the mouse over highlighting, and "Allow selection in wireframe and HLV mode" under the same tab for select hidden edges

raneu,

A million thanks!

RE: Lost selecting and highlighting in SW 2006

There were several versions which had a glitch whereby importing a STEP file would change some system options.
