Alloy 20 Velocity Corrosion in Sulfuric Acid

Alloy 20 Velocity Corrosion in Sulfuric Acid

(OP)
Hi Everyone,
I am doing a reserch on Alloy20 for Sulfuric Acid 90%-100% at ambient temperature. I could not find much information on the velocity corrosion rate for Alloy 20. I was wondering where can I get some data on that? Also, how does alloy 20 resist to corrosion? Is there a nickle film at the pipe interior? Is it vulnerable to disturbance? Thank you.

RE: Alloy 20 Velocity Corrosion in Sulfuric Acid

A SS will not be very sensitive to velocity since they rely on a chromium oxide passive film.  Steels, cast iron, and lead have soft surface films of corrosion product that are soft and may wash off.
