RE: Amada fine edge control

Its been a while, I'm a bit rusty.

Fine edge data is for Stainless and Aluminum specifically. You can use it on steel if you want but really this is what it was intended for.

Have you ever cut stainless and had that dingle berry right at the corner? Everything else looks great but the corner. This is where fine edge data comes in.

Lets say your cutting a square with sides parallel to x and y. You cutting condition calls out full power full freq etc... When you make that corner, x servo slows down to a stop and once it has stopped then y takes over. Mean while, while you machine is at a complete stop the laser is still cranking full power. This makes the dingle berry. Fine edge data ramps down the laser as the servos decelerates and up while it accelerates, I think. It could be just a ramp up or just a ramp down. Doesn't really matter as long as it works.

If I remember correctly, you have the FO-3015 with the OLC and a Fanuc 160i control (non-NT) correct?

On the custom page there is a column labeled PULSE TYPE. (way to the right of the screen). That is where you put in the 905 or 910 or what ever you want.

Now to change those values, I think you hit the left soft key from the custom page and then the "param" soft key, then page up or page down. It should list the values there.

Keep in mind that its been at least 5 years since I've messed with this function on your style control. I may be close but not exact on the key strokes.

And now for the bad news. This feature requires a pretty fast interface between the laser and control. Fanuc Laser, Fanuc control, no problem. No idea if it is even turned on or can function on your machine. Sorry.
