Looking for an economical 4kV fused disconnect switch for a 45kVA XFMR
Looking for an economical 4kV fused disconnect switch for a 45kVA XFMR
(OP)
We have a water pumphouse that is approximately 1.5km from camp. The load is about 30kVA, 3phase, 3 wire system (60Hz). We are exploring options and are thinking about stepping up from 600V to 4kV, running a #4 AWG conductor for the distance and then stepping down at the pumphouse with a 4kV/600V, 45kVA dry type XFMR. We would like to place a fused disconnect switch on the step-down XFMR. Can anyone suggest a cost effective equipment that would meet this requirement?

The lowest cost in my opinion will be a metal enclosed Fused Load Interrupter Switch (FLIS), and you might be able to find someone to put together a station service power package where they build the transformer into the same box, maybe even the panel board too. If you are in the US, probably around $4-5k.

After getting pricing, a 45kVA pole mounted XFMR and some cut-outs was the feasible option.
