Design of stopper ring in lifting trunnion
Design of stopper ring in lifting trunnion
(OP)
This is for a tall column.
One of our client has asked to provide calculation for Stopper ring in a lifting Trunnion. This ring is welded to the Trunnion, to avoid slipping of the rope towards the column shell.
Anyone having some format to calculate the thickness of ring, please share.

Try posting a sketch of your situation.

You need to put your heat on the table and start thinking with the available options.
Your sketch with the available equipment to use is going to give you an idea, and if you need more clarification you need to provide it here for the discussion.
Kind regards,

What does your client know about who they are dealing with on this matter. Your client really should know what you do and don't know on these types of subjects, otherwise the client maybe paying a premium for a product or service, or for a forum search which they could do themselves, and cut out the middle man.
It would be a good idea if you dug out your old Strength of Materials, Statics, Structural and Mechanical Engineering text books, along with the codes which govern the design of the type of equipment you are talking about. If you don't have access to these types of reference materials and some familiarity and experience with this design process, you probably shouldn't be doing this type of work.
These kinds of problems really aren't a matter of "sharing," they involve many important considerations which seem to have completely escaped you. You should probably hire your own consulting engineer for this type of work. They can work directly with you and see the whole picture, which you certainly haven't provided here. Because the way you have asked your question, you really do need that kind of help to protect your company, the equipment, people around the lifting operation and the client company. Your own insurance company would like that too.
Since you didn't answer any of Saplanti's questions as to how all of the parts work together, or provide any other info. on related equipment, but just repeated your OP, your sketch looks fine if everything else is o.k. too. Just remember, the fact that CAD can draw it does not make it right or make it good design.

Do you really think someone has something "ready made" just for your particular application? A little simplistic, no?

Second might be to support the trunnion against the local force actions. Additionally this bill make sure the load at the shell connection be distributed evenly.
Since you have provided one side of the picture you will not be getting a useful contribution. You need to show the equipmentis to be used between stopper plate and end plate.
I guess, your client should look for the proper trunnion calculation with the available thin shell and watch the displacements.
For all your stress calculations are available in the Roark's "Formulas for Stress and Strain".
Hope it helps.
