NX to V5 cam experiences?

NX to V5 cam experiences?

NX to V5 cam experiences?

(OP)
Been a long time NC programmer using UGNX (13 years). My current employer is using both NX and v5 (50-50). Recently they've decided to start moving everyone to Catia for programming to keep our customers from nagging us about compatibility (read political).

As such, I've been doodling with v5 over the past few days and find the differences pretty wide (not to mention the bizarre French to English long worded icon descriptions). That said, I keep an open mind and I hope this doesn't come off as trolling. Any users here who went from NX to Catia have some opinion of the change over? Such as "never looked back", "wished I never left NX", or "just about the same". I have the opportunity to stay with NX with another employer or stay with this one but must move to v5.

I should add, any v5 training will be only on the job self taught here with the help of the other v5 users.

RE: NX to V5 cam experiences?

Bill,  there's a pretty active and helpful group of NC guys over on the COE.org website. You might want to run your question by them. (the forum is free)
