CONFORMAL COATING G3 ISA CERTIFICATION

CONFORMAL COATING G3 ISA CERTIFICATION

CONFORMAL COATING G3 ISA CERTIFICATION

(OP)
HI!!!

I´m searching if exist some certification for APPLICATION IN ORDER TO MEET CONFORMAL COATING G3 TO ELECTRONIC BOARDS (FOR A INSTRUMENT AND MODULES FOR INSTRUMENT) BY ISA?

I´m having an instrument which it has a transmitter device that has electronic boards. My client is asking me about the "meeting of conformal coating on its electronic board according to ISA".

I´ve found that it is possible to use a spray to meet this COATING but the procedure and conformity according to ISA, I do not know if ISA really gives that kind of certification or report

Please help me with that please!

RE: CONFORMAL COATING G3 ISA CERTIFICATION

Allen Bradley's single page conformal coating document cites several standards,
http://samplecode.rockwellautomation.com/idc/groups/literature/documents/td/ag-td007_-en-p.pdf

which includes ANSI/ISA - 71.04 1985 Class G3 Environment.

It's one of the documents that I happen to have, but I would summarize that document as providing a definition for G3 as a "harsh" severity level (G2 is lower at moderate and GX higher at 'severe'), where "Harsh — An environment in which there is a high probability that corrosive attack will occur."

But the standard does not state applications or certify conformal coatings.
