Expected results for 17-4pH after heat treat

Expected results for 17-4pH after heat treat

(OP)
Good Day.
Looking for some data on heat treated 17-4Ph stainless steel.
Does anybody have data on A-564 Ty. 630 that has been heat treated at 1400 F for 2-hrs and air cooled and then age hardened at 1100 F (not 1150 F but 1100 F) for 4-hrs and air cooled?  We know this is not exactly the H1150M heat treat requirement however our customer is asking for this heat treatment, and, that we evaluate the results to A-564 H1150.
The "Notes" under the A-564 Mechanical Test Requirements Table allows for adjusting the time and temperature to obtain the desired strength however we would like to know if there is any data indicating what we can expect after this heat treatment.

Thanks in advance.

RE: Expected results for 17-4pH after heat treat

With the 1400F treatment the final aging will not matter much.
You will end up slightly stronger than standard H1150M, but not much.
I don't have any actual data on aging at various temps after the 1400F step.
Do you know why he wants this?  I am not sure that you will get very consistent results.

RE: Expected results for 17-4pH after heat treat

Your customer is asking you to supply 17-4 material heat treated per a non standard process. I would insist on written documentation from your customer requesting this treatment and granting a waiver of liability on your behalf.

Are you sure this isn't just a typing error?
