Adding leaders to section views and jog position associativity.

Adding leaders to section views and jog position associativity.

Adding leaders to section views and jog position associativity.

(OP)
Hi

If we add an leader to section a section view, then update the view, then the leader loses associativity, also if you move a view that has a leader with a jog on it, then the jog stays in the same place and doesn't move with the view and requires moving seperately. Is there a way to make the jog associative with the view. Is this normal behaviour.

Many thanks

Best regards

RE: Adding leaders to section views and jog position associativity.

It is not normal behaviour.
Can you provide a bit more detail on your workflow? Are you starting with the usual 'section view' then adding a segment to create a jog? Or are you starting with one of the other type of section views?

Also, are you using the lightweight reps? Perhaps when you update the view NX is swapping out the reps behind the scenes and what the segment used to be associated to is no longer there.

No it's just a baasic section view and its not consistant on other views.on other sheets or parts. We are not using light weight reps either and it is only on a section view.

RE: Adding leaders to section views and jog position associativity.

This happens to me in NX7.5.4.4 also. I usually place the annotation with a straight leader then go back after all dimensioning/annotating is done and add jogs as needed to clean everything up. These added jogs are not associative to the view as Simon indicates. If you move the view the jog pivot point stays in exactly the same spot on the sheet while everything else moves. I haven't checked to see if this happens in NX 8.0 or not.

RE: Adding leaders to section views and jog position associativity.

I have not had trouble with leaders loosing associativity in section views specifically but I do seem to remember that there were some issues in earlier MRs of 7.5 with center marks loosing associativity. Perhaps moving up to the latest MR and MP would fix this.
