swiss schmidt hammer for fire damage to concrete?
swiss schmidt hammer for fire damage to concrete?
(OP)
I am looking for a recommendation for a small portable rebound hammer for general use in concrete and masonry field investigations.
I also wonder if it would be useful for testing the integrity of concrete and masonry that has been exposed to fire. Usually I rely mainly on the appearance and sound of the concrete and clues in the fire damage but these are relatively subjective and it would be nice to have a more quantitative test as well.
Any advise is appreciated.

As long as you don't rely on the rebound hammer for a strength assessment, you can use them for checking area consistency and variation...outside that, they have little use.
