Assigning Macros To Keyboard Shortcut

RE: Assigning Macros To Keyboard Shortcut

Wow... Sorry CBL!  This method's been around since something like '02!

Although I do think that assigning a macro to a mouse gesture is new.

lol  I knew a macro could be assigned to a key, but I meant via the new Keyboard shortcut customize dialogue. Previously only the macros placed in an install directory were available.

SW2011 and earlier;

If Macros is not listed, you must create a macro folder and record a macro in your SolidWorks installation directory, as described in the first procedure.

RE: Assigning Macros To Keyboard Shortcut

No, the keyboard shortcut customize has been around a long time.  Perhaps help just sucked?  I've never made a macro folder, and I've always used this method to assign macros (from multiple folders on local and network drives) to shortcut keys.  The key is that you have to have a button mapped to the macro, then you can assign the key to the button.  If I read your first link correctly, that's still the way.

OK, just me then. sad

Agreed.  lol

I don't think I had ever used the button method, so always had to create the Macros folder. Now we don't need that folder or the button. So I'm happy.
