NX DraftingPlus

NX DraftingPlus

(OP)
Hi,

Is "NX DraftingPlus" available for NX 8 only?
I use at the moment NX7.5.........

Thanks

RE: NX DraftingPlus

The optional 'NX DraftingPlus' module has been available since NX 7.0, however 'Power Drafting', the standalone NX 2D Design and Drafting product, was not introduced until NX 7.5.

I can't see this on my computer........Where should I found it?
Can you direct the steps?....

Thanks

RE: NX DraftingPlus

While Drafting-Plus is an add-on module, there are NO special menus or toolbars, but rather it consists of a series of additional Drafting functions and options integrated within normal NX Drafting which simply requires the additional license in order to use them.

RE: NX DraftingPlus

OK, try this: go to...

Edit -> View -> Copy to 3D...

...and if you don't get an error, then you have the 'NX Drafting Plus' module.

RE: NX DraftingPlus

Thx John,
what about the symbols - I get a license error using the power drafting symbols in nx8 ... what is the benefit of these symbols?

RE: NX DraftingPlus

Are you talking about the the Symbol option titled 'Define Symbol from Catalog'?

If so, think of this 'catalog' as the 2D equivalent of the 3D 'Machinery Library'.  The reason that this 'catalog' is part of NX Drafting Plus (and NX Power Drafting) is because these products are focused on the 2D design and layout task environment.

RE: NX DraftingPlus

Thx John,
Are these symbols like the old patterns? When they work like machinery library? The custom symbols lost their relation after they placed on the drawing -
More infomation needed -

Thanks Mr. Baker!

RE: NX DraftingPlus

Actually they are more like decals, representing the 2D orthographic views of standard fasteners like nuts and bolts.
