Could somebody correct me if I'm wrong please, is the reinforcement area of a H20 link = 628mm2 i.e. 2 x 314,

From this I was wondering if a H20 link at 400centres was equal to 785.5mm2 or is it different because it's a link.

Not sure what you mean by "link".  Just guessing...if you are talking about beam shear stirrups, you count both legs, that is all legs which cross the shear plane.

Hi hokie66, by link I mean shape code 51, so what I'm trying to ask is if we use H20 links shape code 51 at 400 centre what are of reinforcement would this provide per meter?!

Maybe someone who understands your lingo can help.  Remember, this is an international forum.  "H20" and "shape code 51" are not familiar terms to me.
