Surface Finish Symbols

Surface Finish Symbols

(OP)
Using NX7.5, in drafting mode, when wanting to put surface finish symbols on, you are able to associate the symbol to view. Is there a way to associate the symbol to a dimension line?
I have tried using the origin tool and making sure that associative is on.

Thanks

RE: Surface Finish Symbols

Wow, what a good question. I am just moving up to NX7.5 now (from NX6) and I cannot figure out how to put a finish symbol on a dimension extention line either. I am certain someone out there knows how to do it.

Here is something that I found in "What's New in NX7.5.2":
When you position a surface finish symbol created with a leader type set to Flag, you can select either side of the leader line to place the symbol. The symbol will automatically change its orientation when you place it on the opposite side of the leader line.

RE: Surface Finish Symbols

So, in your surface finish menu, expand the "Leader" menu, and then in the "type" pull-down change to "Flag"

Thanks, Works Perfectly.
Works well on angled edges as well which is a major help!
