connector between deformable part

connector between deformable part

connector between deformable part

(OP)
good afternoon,
I'm starting a new thread because Mr Abaqus/CAE is really driving me mad!
I need to insert a connector between 2 parts in an assembly, one rigid body constrained and one deformable.
As an example I've inserted a BEAM connector, just to be sure i have understood how to insert connector in an assembly..
I select 2 points, I assign the referment system and the section.
But if i try to load the assembly with a simple concentrated force it doesn't work: just one part moves (the one on which I apply the force), the other one remain in the same position, even if the BEAM connector should make it move too.

I have noticed that if I constrain the deformable part as a rigid body (so I repeat the same job with both parts as rigid bodies) the BEAM connector works.
My doubt is: is it possible to use connector also with deformable parts?
do you have any suggestion??
thank you again
Stefano Erba
