I'm trying to heat stake bracket made from nylon-6. I'm having trouble finding any ball park figures for the pressure applied or the temperature of the die.

RE: Thermal staking parameters

It's pretty much trial and error, however nylons melt suddenly at quite high temperatures.

They also absorb moisture from the atmosphere over time. If wet when heated to melting point the out gas water vapour ans spit and sizzle.

I would think about 220 to 240 deg C and very light pressure, probably toward the minimum setting on the machine.
