People,

NX7.5 M6400 (QUADRO FX2800M driver version 188.43)

has anyone come across a condition whereby the NX Model Drifts on the Screen . i suspect the 3D connexion SpaceNavigator (for notebook) Driver .... it is the latest driver and has worked fine .. now somethig has changed ....
I guess i am looking for the magic reset button if it exists ... and assuming it works .

any thoughts

gary

RE: NX Model 'drfiting' on the screen

Hey Gary,

i just came across the same problem, installed the latest driver last week from the 3D connexion website and this morning when i switched back from drafting to modeling, my model keeps spinning around and around. Restarted NX and the 3DConnexion driver did not help. Fully restarted the system also not solved the problem, more over the spacepilot pro wouldn't work at all anymore.

So you're not the only one with this problem, but i can't provide a solution for the moment.

Best regards,

Michaël.

RE: NX Model 'drfiting' on the screen

I'm using an older driver so I'm not sure if this is the same for you.  There is a "Calibrate" button on the #D connexion control panel, maybe that will do what you are looking for?

RE: NX Model 'drfiting' on the screen

Completely removed the 3DConnexion installation and reinstalled it solved the problem for me.

Best regards,

Michaël.

RE: NX Model 'drfiting' on the screen

One thing to remember when starting the spaceball driver:  Make sure that nothing is physically TOUCHING the spaceball 'knob' when the driver initiates itself since that position will automatically be read as 'neutral', which means that if something WAS touching it, it will now be in what could best be described as 'drift' mode.  This can often happen if one has a messy desk winky smile

Hello John,

that is an interesting thought on the start up condition and i will note and try a couple of scenarios to determine if this has occured......

thanks for the input

RE: NX Model 'drfiting' on the screen

I remember myself having a similar issue...
It was a heavy map that was sitting on the 3D controller knob the whole weekend. smile
Recalibrating did the trick for me too.

I'm with mmauldin. Don't underestimate the calibrate button.

Open up the 3Dconnexion Control Panel.
Under the tab "Device Configuration", press [Calibrate].
9 times out of 10 this has solved the drifting for me.

Question: having trouble programing the keys on the spacepilot pro (in Windows 7) they lock up or will not work at all
