Solid Edge ST3 Problem

Solid Edge ST3 Problem

Solid Edge ST3 Problem

(OP)
Im a Mechanical Engineering major and have had a weird problem with ST3. When I go to click Open while in SE, it's as if the open menu comes up but it does not show anything. I cannot click on the program, but if I hit Escape it goes back to the program. I would like to know if anyone could solve this problem, thanks!

RE: Solid Edge ST3 Problem

This sounds like one or more of the locations the Open dialog is trying to read no longer exist and the Open dialog is hung trying to find that non-existent location.  Try renaming the "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Unigraphics Solutions" registry key using regedit and the "%APPDATA%\Unigraphics Solutions" folder using Windows Explorer.  This will effectively reset your SE user preferences.  Then launch Solid Edge again and see if this resolves the issue.

Where would I find this to rename it? I have a Lenovo, it seems that may be a mac?

RE: Solid Edge ST3 Problem

In *Windows* -> Run or -> Search type regedit and press enter.

Look for HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Unigraphics Solutions.

Right click on it and select Rename.

Rename the hive to something like "Unigraphics Solutions-old".

File -> Exit regedit.

Launch Windows Explorer.

In the address bar type "%APPDATA%".

Select the "\Unigraphics Solutions".

Right click and Rename.

Rename the folder to something like "Unigraphics Solutions-old".

Close Windows Explorer.

Launch Solid Edge and test.
