Problems with integer and real values.

Problems with integer and real values.

Problems with integer and real values.

(OP)
I have a problem while importing parameters from excel to catia.
Some values are something like 200.000 and catia treats it like an integer. When I change that in excel to 200.1 in excel, Catia can't update that value because it has become a Real Value, instead of an Integer and the "type has changed". Can I make Catia treat all all numbers, even ones without decimals, as Real Values or something?

RE: Problems with integer and real values.

try 200,000
it depends on your settings

RE: Problems with integer and real values.

I checked the setting, it is right. The problem is when CATIA import a value such as 200,000 it presumes it is an integer for some reasons. 200,001 and it´s a real value etc.

RE: Problems with integer and real values.

I have no expirience with that, and this is not a solution per se- but maybe adding a small number (below precision), like 1e-10 to everything in Excel and then truncating the insignificant part once they're properly imported to CATIA might work...

RE: Problems with integer and real values.

then also set the excel to use . as the delimiter. you can set it in regional settings in the control panel i think.

Thanks for the help guys, but the problem is still there. I did change regional settings so it´s all "." in excel and catia. Still for some reason, CATIA treats it is an integer if there are no decimals. There are a couple of ways around it like using .00001 so it´s all real values, or using micrometers in excel, but they all seems kind of annoying :)
