Creating a new drawing layout template

Creating a new drawing layout template

(OP)
Hello,

I'm in the process of designing a new template for GA/Assembly/Engineering drawings.

I've read BS 8888, but in terms of the actual drawing layout, it's not much use.

Basically, I'm after a British version of this: http://mscweb.gsfc.nasa.gov/543web/files/GSFC-X-673-64-1F.pdf

RE: Creating a new drawing layout template

What drawing package are you using? Does it not have built-in templates which conform to (or are close to) the UK standard?

I'm sure that's a nice book, but $270.00 :o

We're using Autodesk Inventor.  We have a template already, but I want to make sure it matches up to spec.

The NASA manual is written against ASME Y14 documents. There should be some ISO documents that cover the same information.

That's what we use.

There is or was a Def Stan that addressed it as I recal, but my memory might be playing up.  If you're doing govt work you may want to check that out.  Most def-stans are available for free online, or at least used to be.
