Steel Fabricator AISC Bridge Certified?

Steel Fabricator AISC Bridge Certified?

Steel Fabricator AISC Bridge Certified?

We designed the railroad bridge inside of existing chemical plant (40ft single span with 2 wide flange girders). Does steel fabricator have to be AISC Bridge Certified?
Thank you very much,

RE: Steel Fabricator AISC Bridge Certified?

I would think so since its fracture critical.  The best bet would to be look at the specs and see (AREMA if the railroad owns it).

Thanks BridgeEI for the quick response. Railroad and bridge are inside the chemical plant and owned by the plant. We think that 40ft simple span bridge with unspliced rolled beams and bolted connections is the same as the heavy industrial structure framing construction encompassed within AISC's Steel Building Structures (STD) certification program.
