Purines installation

Purines installation

(OP)
Hello everybody,

I have to visit a purines installation. Can you help me about the best solutions to install? A double cartridge with a pressurized fluid?

Thanks

RE: Purines installation

You need to provide some more information. I assume this is in the food and beverage industry? Is this for a pump and do you know which piping plan you have?

Send as much detail as possible and you will receive good feedback.

Cheers

I am talking about the mixture of solid and liquid manure mixed with the wastewater from the washing in a livestock farm.
The information I have is that this product is very pollutant with high concentrations of nitrates, phosphorus and potassium.

I have not visited yet the installations but it seems they are having problems with the seals.

I do not know if you have experience in this field, but wich are your first recommendations about this? and what kind of things should I know to give the best sollution?

At first, I would propose a double cartridge to control the leakage of the product, considering that it is pollutant, but what configuration? and what about the barrier fluid?
Regarding the material of the faces, SiC-SiC would be apropiate considering that there are particles in suspension and the product is chemically agressive?

Any help would be useful for me at this moment. I will give you more infotrmation later.

RE: Purines installation

Ok this is clearer
Your will not have any expertise on site I presume so you need the most simplest arrangement possible.  This is definitely a double seal application so sic / sic with viton orings.  I assume low pressure
You will need a fool proof pressurization system and to me water should be the used as barrier fluid as I assume there is lots of water available. There is a product out by Safematic called Smartflow, google it.  This device allows you to hook up directly to the water mains where the pressure must be higher than the seal chamber pressure.  Once the unit is vented, and pump running if the barrier fluid gets hot, there is a thermal relief valve that opens up and as it is hooked up to mains pressure it self replenishes. No operator intervention for topping up!
This should be the way to set it up..  You can also install instrumentation if you wish but the least you should include is a PG with a needle that shows max pressure

Please note that if mains pressure drops then you may experience a seal failure so ask fr a reverse pressure capable seal but first keep an eye on pressure. Assuming this will be a helical rotor pump!

Cheers
