Pre-Stressed Modal Analysis at Different Substeps

Pre-Stressed Modal Analysis at Different Substeps

Pre-Stressed Modal Analysis at Different Substeps

(OP)
I am trying to do a pre-stressed modal analysis of a large deflection structure, which I can successfully do using the following tutorial

http://www.kxcad.net/ansys/ANSYS/ansyshelp/Hlp_G_STR3_13.html

However, the problem is that in this case the static analysis has to be run and the modal analysis directly after, and this can be time consuming if the static portion takes a long time to calculate.  Is it possible to load a specific substep of a previous static analysis and then do a modal analysis.  The idea would be to run 1 static analysis, with say 100 substeps, and then load substep 10, do a modal analysis, load substep 20, do a modal analysis etc... I've tried starting in /POST1 and using the FILE command but it doesn't seem to load the stress state properly.
