compressed air quick disconnects used around the world

In the US we have several different options for quick disconnect fittings for compressed air lines.

Is there a common standard used in other countries?

If not what is the most common interface to compressed air fittings? I doubt that the NPT pipe threads found on US fittings are easy to find in Asia or Europe.

RE: compressed air quick disconnects used around the world

I don't know BUT make sure ALL in the plant are the SAME.

We built a plant in the US - Texas (maybe that explains it) and they used THREE different fittings.

First time I visited EVERYONE had an adjustable wrench and a slew of fittings.

I WENT NUTS!!!!!!!!!!!

Nobody could figure out why production was so slow!!!! until this got straightened out.

AND NO - I don't hate Texas!!!  But don't try to teach or show them anything - unless you really have to...  Hard headed bunch!

RE: compressed air quick disconnects used around the world

I doubt there are hard & fast standards, probably every location is different.  When I worked in France they loved Staubli.  They used that as a generic name for quick connects, like Kleenex.  Took me awhile to figure out what they were talking about.

I am trying to find the best option for a product that will be used with compressed air all over the world.

(miketheengineer I actually did that on purpose once so that people would stop taking my blow guns. :)

RE: compressed air quick disconnects used around the world

I'd take away their darts, particularly the poison ones if they are playing with your blow guns.

RE: compressed air quick disconnects used around the world

My guess is there is probably not just ONE - one simple reason is Metric vs Imperial!!??
