Pressure Vessel Fabricator

Pressure Vessel Fabricator

Pressure Vessel Fabricator

(OP)
As the fabricator of a vessel(Drum). We finished it and the data report is signed by our AI...now comes the engineer wanting to add an attachment clip. Its still in our shop. Is this a routine repair that requires an R stamp? Secondly, Is it reasonable to wave the re-hydro after welding on the new attachment and perform WFMT instead. Much is written about after placed in service or repairs after delivery to the field but not much clarity that I can find on manufacturer options in such cases. Any offerings on a reasonable approach. Obviously hydrotesting again is what we want to avoid.

RE: Pressure Vessel Fabricator

akvtech, it should be possible to avioid hydro. Search the site, it has been discussed numerous times.

Consult with your AI to know for sure.

Regards,

Mike
