i am doing gap element problem in nastran patran, but an error is occuring while doing the analysis, i am doing non linear analysis. fatal error 2084 is comming. actualy i am a beginer in FEM analysis. so plz suggest a method for solving this problem.

have you looked up the manual (for the error code) ?

have you tried a simple example/test ?

have you read the users manual ?

hi,
   i am doing analysis using 0D mass elements, but actually i am not aware about the difference between coupled, grounded and lumped mass, and what is the practical use of these 0D properties??? plz give sufficient advice, buz i am a beginer in FEA analysis.....

Even better use the NASTRAN subforum. Click on the down arrow near the top where it says Search Posts and then search forums for NASTRAN.

0D elements are used to add non structural mass.
As for binner go through Nastran and Patran user manual so that you can understand in depth.
