Electrical Tests and SPC analysis

Electrical Tests and SPC analysis

Electrical Tests and SPC analysis

(OP)
Greetings,

We're actually doing some research on this topic of electrical safety tests and using PC data acquisition for doing such tests and analysis on electronic devices.  Talking about continuity test, hipot test and insulation resistance test, I would appreciate if anyone could take some time to explain to me about what kind of data analysis (charts, bars, etc.) can I do with this information gathered with the testing to fully understand the process and to get some feedback for quality control aspects.

Thanks in advance.

RE: Electrical Tests and SPC analysis

Unfortunately, there is WAY TOO MUCH to try and explain in this forumn.  I would suggest you start doing research on Statistical Process Control, sampling theory, gage repeatability and reproducability, etc..  I spent many years in a quality lab, and without knowing EXACTLY what you are trying to measure / analyze, it would be irresponsible for me (or anyone) to try and suggest measurement / analatical techniques.

If this is for a manufacturing facilitiy, I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you hire a qualified CQE (Certified Quality Engineer) and he/she should be able to look at your specific needs.  Your posted question is similar to "What type of car should I buy?"
