Perforated Shear Walls

Perforated Shear Walls

Perforated Shear Walls

(OP)
I was looking into designing a wood structure in accordance with IBC 2009.  The structure will have perforated shear walls.  IBC 2006 section 2305.3.8.2.4 used to deal with perforated shear walls specifically equations 23-3 and 23-4 however; this section was removed from IBC 2009.  Does anyone know where this sections went?

RE: Perforated Shear Walls

It is in the AF&PA SDPWS (See 2009 IBC section 2306.3)as a free viewable only pdf.

As EOR's we should take the responsibility to design our structures to support the components we allow in our design per that industry standards.

RE: Perforated Shear Walls

SteelPE,

you may want to download an excel file called 'IBC 2009 & ASCE7-05 edition (Revised 7/26/2011)' from http://seaoc.org/software.html
One of the tabs is on perforated shear walls.
