Same model, different section in different step

Same model, different section in different step

I'd like to know if there is the possibility in ABAQUS to change the section on the same model after a particular step and then launch a second step with the same model, another section but the results from the previous step.
Probably it's better with an example: imagine to have a block of aluminium, I put a force somewhere and I get some deformation. Than I want to keep that deformation as input and I want to launch a second step with the same block but in this case I prefer to have it in titanium and not aluminium.
For you does not make sense but I need to know if I can do it with ABAQUS and in case how.
Thanks a lot
Stefano

RE: Same model, different section in different step

Hi,

I am not sure but perhaps results mapping is solution for your problem.
Please take a look for following documentation chapter: 12.4.1 Mesh-to-mesh solution mapping and *MAP SOLUTION keyword.

Bartosz
