Abaqus/Viewer

Hi all,

I have got results from a structural analysis of an assembly and I was wondering if it is possible to apply translucency to individual parts in Abaqus/Viewer? Similarly, I was wondering if it is possible to show the mesh for individual parts as opposed to the entire assembly?

I have been reading the manual and tinkering around in Abaqus/Viewer but cant seem to figure this out.

Thanks in advance!
Dave

RE: Abaqus/Viewer

Which version of CAE are you using? From 6.10 its pretty straight-forward. You just need to open the same ODB twice as two different layers, turn off the parts you want to be translucent in one of the layers and make them translucent in the second layer. Not sure about the mesh.

For earlier versions I think this is also possible using display groups. Can't remember exactly how, but something along the lines of making the non-translucent parts part of a display group, lock formatting for that display group and then turning on translucency.

Hi MechIrl,

I have v6.10 so I'll give it a go now. Thanks for the suggestions, very much appreciated!

Kind Regards,
Dave
