Hi all,

I have a question related to the value I should introduce to my CAE software to model a rubber part.
I have the values for G' and G' so I have the tan d. The value for the elastic modulus is G'(storage) or the modulus of the complex modulus G*?

elastic modulus usually refer to the storage modulus for an elastic material. While a rubber is not a full elastic, if you can only input a scalar into CAE, I guess you may want to use the nominal modulus which is the root square average of the storage and complax ones.
E(nominal) = sqrt(G(storage)^2 + G(complex)^2)

You should use the elastic modulus if you are just interested in how much the part will deflect under a static load. If you have a non-static (oscillating) system then it becomes more complicated.
