Alt Key Gremlin

Alt Key Gremlin

Alt Key Gremlin

(OP)
I'm a big user of the Alt-Keys and try to do minimal mousing.
So, forexample, if I want a MidSurface Single in Solid, I hit ALT-E-M-S and I'm ready to pick.
I do this for everything I can.
(v10 has a few unassigned commands now, however)
But NOW there is appearing a gremlin in the system.  It started with the Tools command.
ALT-T should pull down the Tools Menu, but it does not.  The word highlights, but no menu.
Odd.
Then it moved to the Mesh Menu
ALT-S should pull down the Mesh Menu, but it does not.  The word highlights, but no menu.
Inconvenient.

What is up?  Any ideas?

I've done things like get completely out of Femap.  I've done a computer restart (W7).  No joy.

Is there a patch?  Is this a bug?  Anyone heard of this?

RE: Alt Key Gremlin

Hello!,
Running here FEMAP V10.3 and everything is OK with "ALT-T" and "ALT-S" keys.
Best regards,
Blas.

PD
By the way, FEMAP developers guys heared our needs and suggestions: try "CTRL-M" key inside any command's field requesting a numerical value, you will see that new FEMAP V10.3 will ask you to select a curve to compute the curve length ... previously "CTRL-D" was the only option available to use inside any command to compute the distance between two points ... --thanks!!

Yes, I know they work.

They used to work for me, too.

Now they don't.

The question is why they don't OR more accurately, what we can do to get them working again.

thanks, anyway.

RE: Alt Key Gremlin

I'm currently using V10.2.0 and I see the same behavior you are describing, maudib. It takes an extra key stroke to open the menu (ALT+T+down arrow). I poked around at length in the Preferences and have no joy. What version are you using? Wondering if it's a bug and version specific if BlasMolero is happy in V10.3?

Thanks Jetgirl!
Gold star

I had not learned the down-arrow trick.  Solves EVERYTHING.

I can reprogram my Logitch G13 keypad to incorporate down-arrow in everything and it works great.

Had this trouble 2 years ago in v9.3.  We jumped on 10.1 and it worked great for a while, but then the problem started again.  Curses!!

But this solution works wonderfully!

Thanks.

RE: Alt Key Gremlin
