NX7.5 Dimension Setting

Please see attached JPG.  What setting in NX7.5 will make the Circled dimension line in the attached JPG picture shorter?  I have been all over the annotation preferences and could not find it.  Thanks for the help.

RE: NX7.5 Dimension Setting

There is no direct way to edit the length of a dimension arrow like that.  The best that you can do would be to use a 'Gap' symbol to remove a portion of the arrow.

Go to...

Insert -> Symbol -> User Defined...

...and set the 'Use Symbols in:' option to 'Utility Directory' and select the 'ug_default.sbf' file.  From the list of symbols, select either 'GAP125' or 'GAP25' and then follow the instructions on the Cue/Status Line.  After selecting the Dimension and when placing the symbol select near the end of the arrow that you wish to shorten.  You may have to try this a couple of time until you get it right.

To an Engineer, the glass is twice as big as it needs to be.

RE: NX7.5 Dimension Setting

Hi John

That's right and best procedure. But user don't need to repeat it to get the right result. After performing the operation suggested by John, User can go for move component to get exactly.

Procedure: NX Drafting--Edit--component--Move Component--select the broken line area and move to get exact.

Best Regards

Thanks for the feedback.  I will try this out in a bit and see how this works.  Have a good day.
