PDMWorks lifecycle status contol

PDMWorks lifecycle status contol

I am trying to set up a PDMworks system but am having some difficulty with the lifecycle status. We have 4 status levels "Work in Progress", "Pending approval", "Approved for Prototpye" and "Approved for Production". These status are so that differnt people within the company can only see what is relevant to them.

I have  set it up so that the Design Manager/admin gives permission for work to commece by changing to "Work in Progress". The designer then does the work and checks it back into the vault. I only want him to be able to check it in or change status to awaiting approval. I can find no way of forcing the status in a sequence. so the designer (if so inclined) could do the work and change it straight to "Approved" and so bypassing the checking process.

Does anyone know of a way to only allow the satus to move to the next one in the sequence?

Thanks

Its OK ... I just needed to reorder the status in the list.
