What main differences to microstructure & mechanical properties could a fast cool normalizing provide in comparison to a standard normalizing?

For what steel??? For carbon steel assuming ferrite and pearlite, a faster cooling rate for normalization (spray or moving air) will result in finer and more evenly distributed phase constituents in thicker wall components. The faster cooling should result in higher mechanical properties.

thx again, this was actually for the 0.15 wt% c low alloy carbon steel...
