All New Parts Show Up As Non-Geometric Components in Assy Navigator

All New Parts Show Up As Non-Geometric Components in Assy Navigator

All New Parts Show Up As Non-Geometric Components in Assy Navigator

(OP)
I've been using NX at home for a few years, and every since the last update 7.5.4.4 (or maybe the update before that) every new part I create only shows up as a non-geometric component when I try to add it to an assembly.

Any old parts are added to assemblies without issue. I've attached a screen shot of my assembly navigator.

I'm sure I'm missing something obvious. Help!

Thanks

1.in the assy nav there's an filter active for non geometric part
2. in you file new template theres an active part attribute UG Geometry = NO
hope it helps

Thanks!

For 1, this won't help solve my problem right? I believe this will just hide any non-geometric parts in assy nav.

For 2, can you explain how to modify the new part template?

Also, I've already created quite a few parts. These parts do actually have geometry, I'm able to export step files and open them with other programs. Ideally there would be some way to make these supposedly non-geometric parts into actual geometric parts so I can add them to assemblies.

Since I'm unable to add the parts to assemblies, I've been forced to import them into assemblies, which is really messy and severely limits the functionality of the assembly.

Thanks again for the response.

Upload one of the files which you're having problems with and we'll take a look at it.
