ASTM A325 Clarification
ASTM A325 Clarification
(OP)
All,
I have a ASTM A325 bolt. I have attached a picture for reference.
It's marking indicates it is a Type 3 bolt. But I see a letter G underneath. Has anyone seen this before or know what it means? References would be appreciated.
In addition, per AISC the thread length of a 3/4" A325 is 1 3/8". But the bolt I have has 2" of threads. Can the thread dimension be changed from AISC?
Thanks!

There are tolerances allowed for everything. I don't know what they are for A325 bolts since I do not have the ASME standard that the ASTM A325 standard references for thread length. But I seriously doubt that the tolerance allows 5/8" of extra threading...
