Erasing a group

Erasing a group

(OP)
Anyone could told me how to erase a selected group?

RE: Erasing a group

I think you cannot delete a group which is current. You need to post or make current another group. Then, you can select : Group - Delete and select the group to delete. Should work.

Sorry but there was a misunderstanding: i dont want to delete a group.
I want to acting on plot/ERASE function. So the aim is to hide the group. Maybe there's a correct sintax to insert in the plot/erase box, i've tried with "group xxxx" but doesn't works.

RE: Erasing a group

If you have defined your model with many different groups that contains different entities, can't you just unpost the group? This will "erase" it as would do the plot/erease function. That is what I am doing usually. I post all the groups (by selecting them all) then click again on groups I don't want to show and they "erase".

Now, if you have a group containing all the entities (lets say TOTAL) and a group containing part of it (SUB) and that your are in the TOTAL group and just want to erase the elements contained in SUB using plot/erase... I don't know if it is possible.

Yess... ok it's correct..
But i've not found an unpost command.. because in che current group are included the element of group xxx also,i've to do another group with the remaining elements of the model and then posting only this
there's another way?

RE: Erasing a group

The group containing the elements you want to delete, go in this group, go to modify group, select the elements and nodes - copy and go to your current group containing all the elements, go to plot/erase and paste what you have copied. it will erase all that was in this group.

Otherwisem I don't know any other way. Separating your model in groups at the start really save you time afterwards...

Unfortunately i can't use any copy/paste options, because i'm working in remote on HPC of DLTM (La Spezia, Italy).
This cloud use VNC viewer for sharing grafical application with remote desktop.
Nowadays i've not found a way to do copy/paste in vnc..
